Advice to Myself

Just a few little sayings I have either copied or made up, and have annoyed others with. So much so that they remind me of these sayings sometimes.

Travel

You can sleep when you’re dead.

If you see something for sale along the way that you love, just buy it instead of checking other places. You might never see the same thing again.

Same goes for pictures – don’t miss that memory!

At the end of the day it’s not the things you did that you’re going to regret, it’s the things you didn’t do.

Random Stuff

Take care of the state of your hair and your shoes. Everything in between will fall into place.

There are three sides to every story. Both sides, and the real one somewhere in between.

Take care of the dimes, and the dollars will take care of themselves.

Spend your money, your goal should be to have your last cheque bounce. (that’s from back when we wrote cheques). May your last etransfer bounce I guess.

You won’t remember the nights you got a really good sleep.

No one tells a great story about the night they got a good sleep.

If you’re not living on the edge, you’re taking up too much space.

When people show you who they really are, believe them.

Don’t wait until you’re ready. You may never be ready. There might be no such thing as ready.

Just because you’ve been doing it that way forever, doesn’t mean it’s not incredibly stupid.

Photography

Don’t cut off feet in photos. Either chest up, or the whole body. Including feet.

Get close.

Fitness

Never miss a Monday.

Posture is everything. I have to remind myself all the time. Oh, and also pull in the abs when you straighten up, and walk on your toes once in a while.

Chest out, shoulders down. NOT shoulders back.
